Affiliated and Associated Memberships

We offer Affiliated and Associated memberships. The only fees collected are to offset costs of administration and the certificate. Each membership (Affiliation or Association) is renewable annually for the same cost. $100.00 (USD).

Definitions:

Associated memberships: Dojo owners or persons who want to have a loose associations with our organization. They are eligible to attend camps, seminars, symposiums, and sponsor one of our instructors. They are eligible to attend our instructor training programs as well. These members may also be inducted in to the Shihankai with appropriate sponsorship.

Affiliated memberships: Dojo owners or persons who want a closer relationship with our group. These members will be encouraged to use and promote our grading syllabus for Kyu and Dan rank students. These members are eligible to attend camps, seminars, symposiums, and sponsor one of our instructors. They are eligible to attend our instructor training programs as well. These members may also be inducted in to the Shihankai with appropriate sponsorship. They are additionally able to test for International Dan rank recognition within our group (there is a mandatory set of rules before eligibility requirements are met, please see contact the executive chairman for details). These persons are also eligible to grade for a Dan Grade license as well as coaching/judges license from U-KAI.

Honorable Shihankai

There is also a third tier of participation in our group is the Honorable Shihankai. Shihankai membership cannot be bought, you must be sponsored into the group by an existing member. For Shihankai there is a one time fee.

Included in your membership are the following benefits:

1. Dojo certificate which shows your affiliation/association.
2. Membership Patch and Passbook for Association dojo owner. Patch available soon.
3. Prominent listing on our International website (Affiliated members receive a personal bio and dojo information.)
4. Associated members have eligibility to apply for Dan rank conferral, if coming from another traditional karate organization. Affiliated members have the ability to enter an examination for a U-KAI International Dan diploma.
5. Eventual eligibility to be recognized by an International Shihankai (group of Masters), at 5th Dan or above.
6. Ability to pre register for Camps, Seminars, Symposiums, or any other U-KAI event.
